How to Find the Perfect Boat
It's difficult enough for an experienced boater to find the perfect boat, but for a first time boater it can be even more difficult. However, there are a few key areas that can help your quest to find the perfect boat.
Small Sailboats Are Fun
Small sailboats are from about 10 to 18 feet in length (3 to 6 metres). Small sailboats are often called sailing dinghies, because almost all have open cockpits without any cabins. They are usually made from either marine plywood or fiberglass - the big manufacturers use fiberglass, but wood is used for some boats, particularly if they are sold in kits.
If You Want Healing Step Out of the Boat

New Company, SEAL? Boats USA, Launches line of Aluminum Boats to Compete with Inflatables
Seal Boats USA Inc. today announced the launch of the company's initial line of all-aluminum boats, designed as an alternative to the inflatables currently in use as yacht tenders.
Preventing Boat Propeller Injuries

AVRA J/120 Sailboat Racing Website
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 19, 2008 -- AVRA, a winning sailboat racing program with a hailport of New York, NY has launched its website at AVRA website (http://www.avra.us)
The website provides "confidential" information to provide sailing and sailboat racing information to the members of its sailboat racing team as well as to other sailboat racing teams
AVRA is a J/120 (40 foot sailboat) hailing from New York. We race AVRA in windward/leeward regattas, we distance-race her in events ranging from 200 to 650 miles, and we cruise her in New England waters. The boat's name is a Greek word meaning "a pleasant breeze coming from the sea."
AVRA's first place trophies include Key West Race Week (One Design, 2005), American Fall Series (One Design, 2006 and 2007), American Spring Series (One Design, 2005), Jamie Boeckel Memorial (IRC, 2006), YRALIS Gitana Trophy (PHRF, 2006), and the Fareri-Wachovia Cup (2006).
In addition to the photos and schedules that all racing program websites have, on this site we share our "confidential" resources. Our goal in doing so is to have these materials easily accessible by our Team as well as to share them with new J/120 programs in Long Island Sound, including those at the US Merchant Marine Academy and US Coast Guard Academy, both of which recently acquired J/120s. In addition, many of the materials apply to other sprit-boat designs of similar size. We welcome any comments and improvements.
AVRA would like to thank each member of our Team; their friends and families who support them in the sport; and the event organizers and race committees without whom there would be no racing: Thank You!
